Ukraine to skip $665 million payment on growth-linked debt

1. Yeah I read about this earlier, technically they’re already in default on the debt, but it was restructured so it doesn’t trigger any cross-default clauses with other debt. So not in a full-on default as a state yet, just a limited default (aka Restricted Default) at this point.

   From what I understand it sounds like investors were too hopeful on Trump’s promise to end the war quickly and thought the loans were far less risky than actually are. Basically trying to make a quick buck and ended up loaning money to a failed state that doesn’t have enough income to fund itself much less pay back half a billion in loan interest.

2. I like how casual the title is, like anybody can just say nah… I’m not gonna pay it when it’s due. I’ll skip this one.

   Buy this skipping it’s not cancelling the debt, it’s just skipping the date, postponing it. This will eventually come and bite them. 

   This war will end and the lenders will come after the money. They always do.
