1. I grew up on a wooded lot. My parents loved trees, forests and nature. I inherited that love and moved from one heavily wooded part of the US to another as an adult. HOWEVER, I no longer enjoy the unfettered happiness I used to feel when seeing forest. Now, lurking in the back of my mind is a future view in which climate driven drought and heat turns it to kindling.

   This morning, I randomly surfed into an article about a newly graduated (22 year old) Meteorologist named Chris Martz who self identifies as a lukewarm climate skeptic. He is a darling of the Right because he very carefully cherry picks his data and climate subjects. Some call him the “anti Greta Thunberg”. This fellow is a poster boy straight outta that book, “The Merchants of Doubt”. I noticed, that he doesn’t appear to have any interest in the very alarming fact that we are warming at a pace greater than 15X, and if we use recent data (and Hansen’s analysis of it) 30X the rate of prior natural cycles.

   But – scratching my head – I’m giving him at most a 10 year career run. By ’35 I expect us to be just over an Olympiad from hitting 2C.

   The most ironic thing about this subject is that the Right really loathes immigrants. And nothing, I mean nothing comes close to Climate change when it comes to driving mass migrations. When it is a Move or Die situation, people move. Anyone would.
