  1. No sane country should allow something so needless, pointless and dangerous.

  2. The fires would be a great cultural Northern Irish thing if they could only stop burning effigies of political opponents and their flags

  3. What other places on earth would put up with this shite? I wonder which “cammunity leader” pocketed the money from Amazon?

  4. “I’m proud of these guys”.

How embarrassing. What a low bar.

  5. Not from Northern Ireland, can someone explain to me why protestant teenagers and young men hate palets so much.

  6. I’ll get down voted to hell for this, but I think it’s funny how triggered some people get by the very existence of these fires. Every year this sub gets inundated with the same people crying like little babies about “themmuns” having bonfires. Over the next few months that and Kneecap’s latest publicity stunts are all you’re going to hear about. If you don’t like the bonfire don’t go to it! Have a nice night in watching Star Trek, scrolling on Grindr or something else that you enjoy more. And if you don’t like the effigies or the messages… People have been fighting here for hundreds of years. It’s nothing new. Repeating the same shite over and over again each year wont stop it.

  7. Fucking love it when these morons gets some exposure on the global stage, they never fail to embarrass themselves 😂

  8. “Through me you go into a city of weeping; through me you go into eternal pain; through me you go amongst the lost people.” – Dante, Inferno.

  9. We don’t have it down south here. We don’t burn Brit flags and symbols of British identity on bonfires. Keep your ‘culture’

  10. Have hand to them the do make aceedingly good bonfires makes any we built on the 8th of August years ago look like a kiddies bonfire. We do have one out in the back field here for Halloween never anymore than 40 odd pallets high and I’m the silly fucker on top of it . Wouldn’t fancy being on top of them monsters

  11. They’re really clutching at straws for documentaries these days

  12. Having left NI nearly ten years ago it’s always disappointing that people still involve themselves in this hatefest. It wouldn’t be tolerated in any other part of the UK or Ireland.

Nothing amplifies the image the English/Irish have of NI as a bunch of backwater knuckledraggers more than this shite. And now Amazon is sticking a spotlight on it. Makes me ashamed to be from there.

Inb4 ‘whataboutery’ – Similar displays on the nationalist side (e.g. internment bonfires) are equally shameful and embarrassing. All a load of hate-filled flag shaggers.

  13. It still baffles me that in 2025 with all the issues facing us like global warming, biodiversity crisis and government spending, that these fires are still allowed to happen.

  14. Leave it to Amazon to make bonfire building sound like a gritty thriller 😂

  15. I hope in the future that bonfires will just be viewed as an excuse for a night out with a couple beers and a community thing and all the old politics behind it will be taboo…

  16. So a documentary of modern day neanderthals getting excited over a fire?

    Cool

  17. This shite should not be normalised or celebrated with a documentary like this

  18. A waste of time, a waste of energy and toxic to everyone.

  19. Thought I was watching new Christopher Nolan movie trailer with that music lol

  20. I went to Amazon and watched “Bonfire of the Vanities.” I have no idea what any of you are ranting about. It doesn’t sound at all like New York City in the 1980s. /s
