  1. Ηe doesnt play democracy for decades…..its not a new thing!

  2. He was a democrat the same way Menderes was a democrat

  3. Might be closer since reddit’s darling kurds are on Erdogan’s side again.

  4. Lol…

    Completely FAKE!

HBS Survey, first time heard about it. LMAO…

  5. Turkey is now “minority party dictatorship” officially, especially for the last 2 months.

What Europe needs to understand is that Erdogan and his islamist junta will even be worse than what Putin is doing the region in the long term.

European leaders should stop playing ball with Erdogan and treat him as hostile junta leader despite his claims, promises or appearances. Just cutting the monetary resources (especially from London) or at least making it difficult to bail him out will help the secular people of this nation.

It is already quite late, but the imminent total death of democracy in Turkey will not be good anyone in Turkey or the region and will also harm Europe in a ways not quite predictable yet.

  6. This poll was made in Ankara and is not referring to the entire country although the national poll is not much worse

  7. Totally disagree. The 2017 referendum was the last nail in the coffin of tukish democracy.

  8. The reason those dictators don’t want to leave power is because they know that as soon as they do, they will be prosecuted for their many crimes.

It’s not even the fact that they’re power hungry, they’re just scared of the consequences of their actions while in power. I’m sure that some dictators would love to retire but they can’t because they’re criminals.

  9. „Anymore“?

This is Exactly why Europe shouldn‘t treat Turkey as an „replacement“ for the US.

  10. Erdogan, the best friend of Pedro Sánchez. If you don’t understand Sanchez has become very close to Turkey and Erdogan with the last visit being last week.

  11. It’s clear that this is a biased poll.
An org that is demanding an early election “erken secim” and even puts it in the result of the poll looks like 100% trust worthy.
Edit: [The org stated that this poll result, which is shared in social media, is inaccurate](https://x.com/Hbs_arastirma/status/1927814364385394902), as it’s the poll election of specifically Ankara province. looks like they are not the ones that are demanding early elections.

  12. Erdogan is accumulating millions of young men of military age from across the Islamic world, from Afghanistan to Nigeria, in Turkey.

He uses this population as a bargaining chip in his negotiations with European states, and for now, the European states seem content with Turkey keeping this population within its borders.

  13. I thought he said he doesn’t care about being reelected. Is it possible he… lied?

Or maybe he meant there won’t be elections.

  14. He has direct support from US and EU, keep that in mind while commenting avg. European reddit user

  15. Of course, despots pretend until it doesn’t work for their purpose. Putin, orban, erdogan, lukashenko, all pretended to be denocrelatic until won people turn against them – then elections get rigged and irrelevant so does the judiciary and then opposition is hit

    Classic

  16. I want my parents home country to be free from religion and this guy 🙁

It’s such a beautiful country with beautiful places, it has much snow in winter and a nice hot summer.. but religion and politics make it disgusting.

One day I can visit this country again.

  17. He and all his corrupt chums will face a lot of legal consequences if they lose power. Europe owes it to the Hungarian people to make sure they have free and fair elections.

  18. Erdogan kinda looks like Francis Underwood from that angle 🤷🏽
