Why are they targeting Siberia? What’d that change for them.
Should be clarified they are using unknowing civilian truck drivers as a launchpad for these drones. Similar to when they tricked the Azeri truck driver into being an unknowing suicide bomber at Kerch bridge.
This is a war crime that has resulted in the death of at least one truck driver so far, if Russia did this you would be losing your minds not celebrating.

Literally everything about this war is so fake and agreed-upon by the higher ups. The Dnieper bridges are still standing after 3.5 years (when the Ukrainians destroyed the two Kherson/Kakhovka bridges in Nov 2022, and no, without damaging the dam). Now Putin is literally culling Russia’s indispensable strategic aircraft fleet. And that’s after developing the utterly useless Oreshnik missile, reducing Russia’s nuclear deterrence capability (because IRBM can’t deter America, America being Russia’s actual enemy).
I wonder if Russia has repaired the early warning radars in Orsk and Orenburg (destroyed in June 2023), because if not, I’d expect a nuclear strike this year? Although given this June 1 operation, commandos could simply cut off the radars on Day X, winning NATO a few minutes and destroying all Russian nukes in the silos.

Absolutely wild event. This has soooooo many implications for drone warfare not just in Ukraine but for all of the world.. Ukraine just had a direct attack on **dozens** of strategic bombers, **many of which are apart of their nuclear deterrence strategy**. It’s a very valid thing that Ukraine did not warn their western counterparts (or atleast the US according to Axios and White house) as if they knew Ukraine just targeted that many, there is a very strong chance our partners may have alerted Russia ahead of time.
Also even understanding that this attack took years to pull off.. Ukraine produces thousand of drones a month. If you’re in the Kremlin right now I’d be terrified this could happen again.
The west is not prepared at all for the threat drones and locally paid actors/acts of espionage targeting military locations. Or fuck even aircraft carriers. Think of how many dozens of F16’s or C130s you see sitting on top of a nimitz class carrier on a busy day. Or aircraft just sitting on airfields uncovered, or if the covering is even strong enough to protect from drone penetration.
edit: Our military, and our cities are not prepared. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, the next 9/11 level terror event that happens in the west will involve drones.
