  1. Because Ukraine is not stupid. Telling Trump, or anyone in his Big Top Circus administration is equal to sending up smoke signals. Hell, not only would the Russians find out, but so would the local McDonald’s.

  5. That would be effectively the same as just calling up the Kremlin directly. Probably within 10 minutes of hanging up the phone with someone in the US the Russians would know about it.
