  1. Putlers karma will strike back one day, thats for sure.

  2. And that is the last country to give up nukes under any deal, lesson learned

  3. Probably should ban ruzzia from the olympics. Even competing as a non-country.

  4. Worst decision for Ukraine.

Mearsheimer or what’s his name was right. We should have let Ukraine be armed up to their teeth with nukes, even give some to Germany and there would have been a higher chance for peace.

  5. great example of how Russia LOVES to not follow agreements.

  6. Russia recently losing 30% of their long range nuclear bombers is pure cinema. Fuck Putin

  7. A decision that would never, ever come back to haunt them in the future.

  8. It’s a bold move Cotton, let’s see if it pays off.

  9. Ukraine, Russia, and the United States signed the Budapest Memorandum in 1994. This agreement involved Ukraine transferring its inherited Soviet nuclear arsenal to Russia for dismantling, in exchange for security assurances from Russia, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The memorandum included commitments to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and borders, as well as not using force or threatening to use force against Ukraine.

Russia violated the agreement in 2014 by invading Crimea and the US and UK did nothing but lodge strongly worded protests and less than complete sanctions. Their complete abdication of their responsibilities in this agreement led to Russia invading Ukraine proper and threatening Europe. Once again we see what less than total commitment to smashing aggression down leads to.

  10. Hopefully the next nuclear missile transfer to Russia is a little more 💥

  11. It was buying 30 years of time vs instantly imploding from embargo from everyone. Nothing else.

  12. Anything signed by Russia isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.

  13. If that’s where they were keeping them, it doesn’t look like the missiles would remain usable anyway.

  14. International treaties and international law enforce justice, peace, and prosperity, that is until Russia comes in and tears it to shreds

  15. A bunch of nukes would definitely come in handy now, unlike that piece of toilet paper called “Budapest memorandum”. We should’ve seen it coming though. We’ve got only ourselves to blame.

  16. Someone tell the Polish electorate what trusting Ruzzia and electing a far-right populist has done for Ukraine and the US respectively. If you need firsthand experience for the latter I gotchu

  17. Too bad Zelenskyy can’t go “Oh wait there’s a few dozen we forgot to hand over, and eh…. with having said that…”.

  18. Historical background. The military units responsible for servicing nuclear weapons on the territory of Ukraine NEVER swore allegiance to Ukraine. The Ukrainian government NEVER had the ability to use USSR nuclear weapons, as all launch codes were in Moscow and military personnel were sworn to Russia.

  19. I guess that Ukraine didn’t have the facilities or money to upkeep the bombs and giving them away for a guaranteed peace makes sense to me. Sadly we are talking about russia. After breaking this contract I would never again trust russia or make contracts with them

  20. People in this thread imagining them keeping the nukes was ever an option.
