Today, June 2, marks the 1195th day of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Meanwhile, the second round of direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia is taking place in Istanbul. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has approved the delegation, which will be led by Defense Minister Umerov, as in the previous round.
It is known that Ukraine has prepared a memorandum, which was proposed to Russia and the United States. On June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a special operation called “Web,” during which 34% of strategic cruise missile carriers at four airfields deep in Russian territory were struck using FPV drones.
At the same time, on June 1, the Russian army launched a missile strike on one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ training units, resulting in casualties and injuries among servicemen. Against this backdrop, the Commander of the Ground Forces, Mykhailo Drapatyi, submitted his resignation.
Explosions were again heard in Kharkiv, indicating an escalation of fighting in the region. Correspondents report several explosions that occurred in the past few hours.
Meanwhile, the second round of the presidential election has concluded in Poland. According to the latest polls, the candidate from the Law and Justice party, Karol Nawrocki, leads his opponent Rafał Trzaskowski, garnering 51% of the votes compared to 49%. The 2% difference exceeds the 0.5% statistical margin of error, suggesting a possible victory for Nawrocki.
