His tumultuous tenure in the public sector at an end. Elon Musk is leaving Washington after some five months as a special government employee, thanking President Donald Trump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending. But the world’s wealthiest man appears to be leaving distanced from and disillusioned with the White House. His departure comes just a day after publicly criticizing Trump’s so-called big beautiful bill, a budget busting package of tax cuts and spending measures that is projected to add 3 to5 trillion to the US national debt over the next 10 years. I was like disappointed to see the massive spending bill frankly uh which increases the budget deficit not just decrease it and undermines the work that the Doge team is doing. With his department of government efficiency, Musk initially pledged to slash $2 trillion from federal spending before reducing the goal to 1 trillion. Even its current estimate of 175 billion in savings is likely inflated as independent reviews have found Doge calculations riddled with errors. His efforts though have resulted in the termination of more than a quarter million government employees and a sharp reduction in international aid, nonprofit journalism, and scientific research. Musk’s emergence as a strident supporter of far-right political movements appears to have had a considerably negative effect on his businesses. In particular, Tesla, which has seen its sales crater by nearly half in Europe.

  10. Boycott is the most powerful weapon in the hands of the common people – the richest man had to bow and retreat. so don't underestimate the power of common people. Elon is a white supremacist, got this in his education in South Africa where the only blacks you see in an office of Whites are making tea or cleaning the floor.

  23. He’s got a lot on his plate. He has done what he was hired to do with doge and now he goes back to his life. This is what he was going to do all along. His job with Trump was only temporary

  27. I once admired Joe Rogan, then got so disillusioned after his support for Trump. Later Joe Rogan regretted his support, but it is too late. Same goes to Elon too. Elon lost the support of the people. No matter how much back peddling he tries now.

    DOGE was statistically a failure. $2T to $1T to less than $200B.
    He himself has lost almost that much $$$.
