All this talking up WW3 is just going to normalise it until shit actually starts happening. I think it’s something wired into the human psyche, every now and then we decide we need a bloody good war. Then afterwards we’ll sit around, a little stunned at what we just did, and promise never to do it again.
Business continuity planning is sensible. This is just an extension of it.
Much like planning for a Zombie apocalypse – the process of planning exposes your weaknesses and helps identify some possible solutions
What’s the point. Almost noone survives WW3 and those that do will wish they hadn’t
Those in power need to be made to watch Threads..
This tomeline and slow build up is just what happens in that.
Why does the Telegraph want to manifest a world war so much? It’s an unhealthy obsession.
I guess they see it as “patriotism” lmfao
the media can’t wait for world war 3 apparently, i’m sure all the billionaire owners of the rags taking it up will be safe in their new zealand bunkers
ffs, am I going to have to do those bloody silly “hide under the desk” drills again?
It’s the suits and money men who want war . The people on the streets are against it .
I’m skeptical as to whether WW3 will happen, but i suspect alot more large scale proxy wars to occur, since as deranged as they may be, Russia probably doesn’t want to use Nuclear weapons

For context this is nothing new. Companies planning for contingency is normal – whether its war, blackouts, terrorism etc

I’m surprised the Telegraph isn’t blaming trans people.
War make money. These papers calling for it are pumping their war stocks.
Funny how we went from pandemic to world war, and it appears no one has learned this lesson.
Russia is never invading the UK. Outside of nuclear strikes we’re literally untouchable to them. Doesn’t stop the fear mongering though.
We’re only doing this because the United States, our defacto protector of the West who are paranoind for us has a flakey asshole in charge for the next 3 years (god forbid he just drops dead soon).
Frankly, the UK military has been way too complacent. Yes, we’ve given tonnes of aid to Ukraine, which we are well suited to do, but when it comes to enforcing a long, drawn out war? We spent everything we had in Afghanistan and Iraq, and haven’t really bothered to rebuild since then. Our nuclear deterrant is hilariously out of spec, having been lax since the 90s. We have a pretty OK air force for interception and attack, but thats just pretty OK. I think this is just a sudden “oh fuck, we’re on our own” overcorrection back to some form of military supremacy that Britain historically has had. Frankly, we should be all in on DEW development, cheap FPV drone development, small arms and shell production. Whilst also making sure our nukes work.
I’ve been preparing myself for a third world war by playing a lot of *Holdfast: Nations at War* recently
I certainly hope not — the Russian missile defences forces’ motto is ‘After us — Silence’.
I think it’d be best if we could learn to get on and *deter* conflict and actively avoid repeating the lessons that millions of dead should’ve taught us the first time.
They absolutely should be planning for world war III, as well as the next pandemic, major natural disasters, cybersecurity risks, suez canal blockages, black swan events.. for the biggest companies it makes sense to manage those risks.
The Telegraph is batshit crazy. I’m convinced they actually want it to happen
No they are increasing the needs of defence for defence.
Outlandish titles in the media.
For those not paying attention we are already in WW3. It’s digital, cyber warfare.
Luckily I’m close enough to central London, so I would be vaporised from the nuclear blast.
Every couple of months, there’s a new wave of fear mongering about WW3.
It’s getting tiring…
Can’t wait for the offspring of the rich and powerful to be deemed “too important” to ever be put in danger while the poor fertilize the fields.
Any global war will be orchestrated by the elite to kull global population numbers ..to cleanse the world of the undesirable and leave the resources for the rich.
I believe mime is running out for sustainability at its current growth rates.
Nearly 2 million dead in the Ukraine Russo war, and apart from condemning and mild sanctions, no one is truly batting an eyelid.
Look how the technology companies are analysing this. They’re slowly introducing new tech to see how each platform functions and effects while data analysing the effectiveness of drone warfare and introducing lessons learnt into their own doctrines.
This war could have 1. Never of happened if global reaction to 2014 invasion was harsher and more effective (global power or not) 2. If packages had been delivered in such numbers that the strength of Ukraine forces could have used the availability of more man power to push back harder and sooner.
This war is deliberately stretched out for economic gain. What makes you think that any other war has been different or will be.
With the US stepping back, it absolutely makes sense for the UK to step up its defence spending and planning.
However, it also bears mentioning the position Russia (the most likely touted adversary) finds itself in.
Russian demographics are in a worse spot than any country in Europe, despite its large population. Russia truly never recovered from the lost generation of men who died in World War 2, and today they face the challenge of an aging population, without any of the inward migration that alleviates that problem in Western countries.
Even if Russia were to claim a total military victory in Ukraine, I am not convinced they will be capable of mounting a major forward offensive into foreign territory by the end of the next ten years.
When taking into account the tooth to tail ratio of a modern, effective military along with the declining number of healthy, fighting age men, the idea of Russia being able to mount an invasion of Europe is unrealistic.
You can’t send every man to the frontlines. Many need to remain home to drive the lorries, work in the factories and pay the taxes which fund everything (not saying women don’t pay taxes, but rather you can’t lift half the tax-base out and expect things not to fall apart).
Many still are required to support logistics and equipment in a modern military. Realistically you can get a sizeable chunk of your young male population as frontline troops, but not the totality.
And the further you send these men the more robust logistics are required to support them.
So what if WW3 did not happen. Would these companies attempt to trigger it to capture a better ROI for their preperations?
My only hope is that enough people decide they don’t want to die for someone elses opinions and ideas, and refuse, and we’ll avoid war that way.
But Trump is roleplaying his Hitler fantasies, and the rich elite are looking forward to being called ‘general sir’
It really feels like the 1910s at the moment, so much of the media/political/business elite seem almost excited for a major war to break out. All I know is if shit hits the fan I’m not signing up.

Personally I can’t wait [to die in a war! ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Si7dl6BU78E) Having a badass war would probably be one of the best things this country could do at the present moment.
Are they quietly updating our contracts that we still have to go in?
Personally I think World War 3 has already started.
Rich people doing capitalism like they’re playing Skyrim/Oblivjon, as soon as you get a decent level the numbers start creeping up and the game becomes too easy so you just start all over and roll a new character.
Wars are a convenient way to wipe the table and an opportunity for new twats to establish their power.
if ww3 happens, there is less need to run because everyone has nuclear weapons, and everyone has gps.
How and why are at War Readiness now? Starmer and Europe are getting in the way of an end to the war in Ukraine.
Who would even start a ww3?
Russia? – They are can’t even beat Ukraine
Israel vs Muslim countries? – I suppose this one is potentially possible. Countries like Iraq might decide to invade Israel to stop the genocide. In which case Western countries decide to step in to defend Israel. However, it’s been nearly 2 years and the bombing goes unabated.
India/china/Pakistan? – Both China and Pakistan want pieces of India. However, it’s been minor skirmishes for decades.
I can’t really think of anything else that could a large multi-national war.
Preparing for WWIII? Most of Britain’s biggest companies can’t even keep their photocopiers reliably maintained.
What a load of nonsense. Surprise surprise a man who gets paid to make money from preparing companies for a global war is blowing his own trumpet and scaring people and companies into employing him. “There will be a war soon so you better hire me otherwise your company wont survive it”.
Sounds very much like the Christians of old proclaiming that the end of the world was coming so the townsfolk better pay the local church and confess their sins before they all go to hell.
