  1. Cue people hating on Gates to crawl out of the wood work in 3, 2……

  2. One of the few tech billionaires who still seem to care about the world

  3. Dude will be hated on even if he farts in his home.

  4. Zuckerberg could’ve been our generations Gates going forth for decades to come instead of bitching to the right wing grifting disinformation machine and dressing like a spoof parody version of what a PR team thinks will help reinvent his image.

Gates has done unbelievable good with his money and should be applauded.

  5. Honest question: we have been  giving a fuckton of money to poor African children for the last 40 years. Maybe more.
Did it actually made a significant, permanent change to the quality of life in the poor african countries? In other words, if we withdraw all external help, will these countries fall back to extreme poverty and hunger, or will they be able to sustain the current  state?

  6. Just think, Elon could have done heroic shit like this, but he did Nazi shit instead

  7. Wonderful news for the African politicians, they can buy so many luxury homes now. Only a tiny fraction of this will be seen by the common African people.

  8. Weird how most of us know at least 1 other billionaire who’s actually from Africa that doesn’t seem to care as much as Bill Gates

  9. Hopefully, the Prince of Nigeria will finally stop emailing me

  10. Waiting for MAGA and Trump to call him out for being unamerican for not donating that money straight into Trumps pockets.

  11. Did he fall for the biggest African prince scam of all time?

  12. While this is obviously a good thing I can’t help but feel sick that someone can have wealth beyond reason. Not just someone, but quite a few people, and society doesn’t consider it a problem worth dealing with

  13. Didn’t warren buffet give him 100bil to go towards Africa or something. I remember seeing something like that on a documentary.

  14. Great, can’t wait to see no reflection whatsoever of this fortune as it all gets embezzled by all the traitors ruling over the majority of African nations

  15. It’s irritating to see that the article ends with possible tax benefits as a possibility for giving away the wealth. I mean come on, at least at face value, man’s pledged to give away 99% of his wealth. I am pretty sure the potential tax benefit he could claim on his 1% wealth wouldn’t justify just giving away his 99% wealth. The skepticism these days are just illogical ffs

  16. I love how random ass people on reddit claim theyre smarter than BILL GATES who is , obviously going to get swindled by corrupt warlords, since hes only the most connected person on earth doing work in africa for over a decade or three. Bravo.

  17. Bill’s already donated far more than he currently has, and if he hadn’t, with investment income he’d have been the world’s first trillionaire by now.

this isn’t new. Since he retired from microsoft his charity has been his primary focus, always. And he’s far more efficient with it than any of our governments are.

  18. Ah but all the youtube lefties told me he’s a monster who’s charitable work is all fake

  19. If I were a billionaire I’d struggle to figure out the proper way to give back, honestly.

Somehow him pledging his fortune to Africa is a negative thing for so many commenters. People wouldn’t be happy with any outcome.

  20. People in Africa about to get some crazy emails from an American prince giving away money.

  21. Pfft, i literally spent trillions on welfare in Africa in Terra Invicta. Unless you are investing in “oppression” you dont achieve anything.

  22. In a world where wealth often accumulates without purpose, it’s refreshing to see someone redirecting it towards meaningful change. A masterclass in impactful giving

  23. He must’ve gotten the call from the Nigerian prince

  24. I am curious to know how he’ll prevent war lords stealing that money. African war lords have always sold off their people and natural resources to whoever paid the right price

  25. Always remember that his company refused to pay his workers a fair living wage in these “Charity” stories.
