Fuck that’s brutal
What theater do you guys think had more visceral hatred and brutality between the factions: the eastern front of WWII in Europe, or the pacific theater of WWII?
The most brutal video I’ve seen on this sub by far, not even the ones with a visible enemy can compare.
My mom used to take care of elderly people and one of the guys she used to take care of was an old flamethrower soilder that served in the Pacific from the start of the Pacific campaign to the end of it, he claims. Man, he used to traumatize me when I was 14 with war stories. He hated the smell of cooking meat and was a pescatarian after the war. I have a copy of his journal laying around it’s a pretty hard read cuz he talks about how he join illegally underage and was so hyped to be in the war and to serve and then he got his first deployment and he was like fuck this this shit is the worst and. By the end of it, he was writing how he was pissed that no one was killing him even though he was purposely running into line of fire of machine gun bunkers and trenches hoping to die. Shit gave me nightmares as a kid and makes me tear up even 12 years later.
Absolutely fucking horrible. I hate everything about this video. Fucking horrifying
Japanese fanaticism beats all for brutality in combat. Japanese didn’t believe in surrender. Shame on generations to come it would bring. Others not so much. They’d give up if they were beat. But the Germans outdid them in inhumanity with the extermination camps.
War is Hell.
Dan Carlin’s “Supernova in the East” Hardcore History podcast is free on youtube and really takes you into the sheer primal brutality of this theater if anyone is interested, it’s good stuff. Kind of depressing though TBF.
Wonder if they ended up shooting him
Believe it or not, this is merciful compared to the way the Japanese killed millions.
Man that’s brutal
The stuff the Japanese did to Australians during WW2 will turn your stomach. The battles in the jungles of New Guinea in particular were just as brutal and maybe even more so than the Eastern Front.
