Another populist dream going up in smoke.
We hebben een serieus probleem.
Underestimate people frustration with establishment at your own peril, he may even return with a stronger mandate.
Right wing fools only have one topic and no solution to real world problems.
It’s really interesting how political stability seems to just go down on the planet as a whole. The amount of failed and unstable governments in europe in the last 10 years is crazy.
It did not? The coalition collapsed, not the government.
This loser needs to go away.
Delicious!
The reality denial is the real problem. You can easily get voters nowadays with campaigns against marginalized groups. However, these populist messages will not help solving any real-world problems such as the increasing divide between rich and poor, housing crises, climate change, population decline. On the contrary, xenophobia will only make things worse.
So, the reason given is that they wanted things that are against the law and several international treaties, and that even then they wouldn’t have the effect they claim they wanted (their logic is that all problems in the country are caused by brown foreigners. They don’t have proof of this because it’s not true, so their policies wouldn’t work). Wilders wanted those things done anyway, and when the other parties said “it’s actually not possible, trying would make everything worse, also the ministers from your party are the most incompetent people we’ve ever seen and they’re getting nothing done” Wilders did the only thing he knows: flipped the board, stomped up to his room and slammed the door.
The other coalition parties now learned what VVD and CDA learned over 10 years ago: Wilders is good at ranting on Twitter but not much else. It’s impossible to govern with the PVV because their goals are not compatible with our democracy. They can only be in the opposition, where all they have to do is scream and rant and it doesn’t matter that their ideas are insane.
The other coalition parties are also bad, mind you, but not to that degree.
Parliament collapsing and needing an election is not the same as government collapsing. A government collapse is a whole other thing…
He almost had it all: largest party, three coalition partners that were fairly close to him on his main immigration issue, in charge of the Ministry of immigration and Asylum and an opportunity to show his party could be more than an opposition party. And he still blew it up.
This guy can’t govern. Just isolate him, even if he still wins the elction. Hope the VVD in particular finally learned this lesson permanently instead of having to learn it every time a new party leader is chosen. I hope at least one of the parties than uphold the firewall against Wilders end up having enough seats to be necessary for a majority.
GACO (Geert Always Chickens Out)
Wilders is a little weasel, yapping about his single-issue politics from the sidelines is the only thing he is good at. As soon as he entered government he actually became responsible for, well, showing that he has solutions. But of course he doesn’t, so now he bravely runs away, back to the sidelines to start up his usual mode of operation.
Stop pretending that complex problems have simple solutions, get competent people in office that actually care about others.
People are becoming dumber and the politicians are reflecting this. We all get what we deserve.
What does this mean for the country?
Go go GroenLinks! Hell yeah, motherfucker. Toedeledokie!
“Damn, governing is hard! Fuck this, I‘m out!”
Our national embarrassment is in the global headlines for once, glad to be rid of him on the one hand, but annoyed at the thought of him jumping back into the opposition after realizing that bitching about the left is easier than actually governing.
Hope they do it right this time and exclude him from the start now. A clown in America is more than enough right now.
Years of bitching and moaning the other parties did nothing and when he finally got elected prime minister and the biggest party he too presented nothing and still blames other. Stupid narcissist.
This is why I’m hoping Reform don’t win in the UK on 2029.
Their specialty is heckling from the sidelines. When they’re in a position where they have to deliver results and work alongside those who don’t share the same views, they tend to do a runner and/or it all falls apart as they’re completely out of their depth.
From me we get now a minority government
OMG, who could have predicted this! /s
Him joining a coalition was a big mistake on his part, if he didn’t do it it’s possible he would have had 50% support now.
Far right candidates deflate when they attempt to govern.
Another populist without a plan? Colour me surprised🥺
Let Sigma take over
You gotta respect what people voted for and the government isn’t respecting it.
To me it seems fair that they leave if them being the biggest party doesn’t get a say
* Win election
* Refuse to be prime minister
* Refuse to be part of the cabinet
* Do nothing
* Quit in anger
I’m starting to think that Wilders is more interested in complaining than governing.
