  1. **Statement by SBU:**

    > The SBU conducted a new unique special operation and struck the Crimean Bridge for the third time — this time underwater!

    > The operation lasted several months. SBU agents mined the supports of this illegal facility. And today, without any casualties among the civilian population, at 4:44 in the morning the first explosive device was activated!

    > The underwater supports of the supports were severely damaged at the bottom level – 1,100 kg of explosives in the TNT equivalent contributed to this. In fact, the bridge is in an emergency condition.

    > The head of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk, personally supervised the operation and coordinated its planning.

    > “God loves the Trinity, and the SBU always brings what is conceived to the end and never repeats itself. Previously, we struck the Crimean Bridge twice in 2022 and 2023. So today we continued this tradition underwater. There is no place for any illegal Russian facilities on the territory of our state. “Therefore, the Crimean Bridge is an absolutely legitimate target, especially considering that the enemy used it as a logistical artery to supply its troops. Crimea is Ukraine, and any manifestations of occupation will receive our tough response,” Vasyl Malyuk noted.

    **Upd2:**

Ru telegram channels report about 2nd attack. And also I kinda missed this part of the statement:

    > without any casualties among the civilian population, at 4:44 in the morning **the first** explosive device was activated

What kinda implies there was not only one bomb there.

    **Upd3:**

Ru channels reports that bridge is temporarily closed.

  2. I called it yesterday that the bridge would be the next target…but i wasnt expecting that to happen so quick after the sunday operation…the total anihilation of that bridge will certainly have tremendous impact on the war, send it to the seafloor guys ! 💪

  3. How much damage is actually done here? The bridge pier is still standing.

  4. Seems it wasnt enough. I dont see any bigger effect?

  5. This is quite a difficult attack to defend against, as the things you are defending the bridge against can also sink most of the (remaining!) ships you’d defend it with.

Hopefully a few more are coming along to mop up

  6. I’m guessing they tested how much explosive ordinance they need to blow up the protection barriers.

If they can blow these and get bigger slower drones into position to finally take out the bridge.

  7. Apparently the bridge is built on many very small pillers under water/ground. This apparently helps weathering the strong tide. So it may be more serious than previously thought.

Here’s a link to twitter showing it in pictures

    Edit:

Picture showing the drone attack proceeding the FIRST explosion. Apparently a Ukrainian jet attacked after this at around 1am. Population noted an explosive after which the bridge was closed.

  8. Fair play to the Russians as much as it pains me to admit it. They built a strong bridge.

  9. Russian social media claims a repeat attack on the Crimean bridge 2 mins ago.

  10. Word is that they’re attacking the bridge again right now with sea drones.

  11. God dammit I love Ukrainian ingenuity.

    Слава Україні

  12. Bridges sure are alot tougher to destroy than I imagined.

  13. Ah, it’s time to dig out the ‘Kerch Bridge on fire’ meme!
