The relevant statement was published by the agency on its Moldova MFA Telegram channel

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova has announced the necessity for its citizens to refrain from traveling to the Russian Federation. This decision follows the deterioration of the security situation in the region and an increase in cases of forced treatment of foreign immigrants by Russian authorities. The relevant information was published on the official Telegram channel of the ministry.

Among the main concerns are the following measures:

detention of individuals during border crossings or raids within Russian territory;
arbitrary application of legislation;
transfer to detention centers, including the Multifunctional Migration Center;
administrative sanctions or criminal charges without providing convincing evidence;
risk of persecution or unlawful detention by law enforcement agencies.

The Moldovan MFA also urged its citizens already in Russia who find themselves in emergency situations to contact the emergency line of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow at: +7 929 964 9079.

Additionally, starting January 16, according to information from the Moldovan Border Service, new entry rules into the country have come into effect, particularly from the Odessa region. Drivers must now carry a valid technical inspection certificate for their vehicle. In the absence of this document, Moldovan border guards will refuse entry of vehicles into their territory.
