  1. Controversial take in some circles but escalate to de escalate might be the cards Ukraine needs.

  2. “says” – weird moment to use hedging terms when there’s video of it as well as photos of aftermath and closure of the bridge and RU media reporting it.

Edit: they removing the hedging language from the title, now reads “Ukraine strikes bridge connecting Russia to Crimea with underwater explosives”

  3. The first two times were huge news. Today it’s meh. Good illustration to how much worse Russia is doing compared to 2022-2023

  4. Russia keeps getting reminded that Ukraine was carrying the brunt work in military tech for the USSR.

  5. Wait I thought there were no cards, I am seeing some royal flushes here???

  6. Trump is awfully quiet about Ukraine in the last few days…

  7. First the airfield operation and now this? You have to ask what is coming next.

Looks like Ukraine has been holding plenty of cards.

They just waited to start revealing them at the right time.

  8. I heard that Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo wasn’t made aware of this plan before it was carried out. What a loser.

  9. Interesting to see BBC still aren’t reporting on this. Can only assume it’s taking a while to verify?

  10. One of the goals (other than military) was to put pressure on russia before the upcoming negotiations.
It also stalled further attacks into Ukraine territory at least temporarily.
This is a clever blend of unconventional warfare tactics and tried and true denial of access that shows commitment to the effort of defence.

You can see why trump is baffled.

  11. It sounds like the bridge is still standing.

The people who decide whether to drive heavy loads across it are not going to be the people who do the driving, so chances are they are going to continue to use it.

However between the strike against Russia’s trucking industry, the attacks on the railroads and now this, logistics may be quite a mess in Russia right now.

  12. Sorry, I dont see any major damage to that concrete pilon, going to need a bigger bomb!

  13. Ukraine will be at the forefront of asymmetrical modern warfare with battle tested technology and battle hardened operators.

I can see SBU or their special forces elements being hired as advisors for the eastern NATO flank countries on how best to defend and fight against Russia.

  14. Please let a second strike hit the bridge for the memes

  15. Ukraine’s too smart for my small brain, I’m sure if they wanted to have Kerch destroyed, it’d be destroyed. There’s probably a reason it’s still standing.

Sun Tzu himself says that when encircling an opponent, it’s wise leave some channel of escape. Otherwise they’ll fight harder.

  16. I wonder what‘s currently up in kremlin offices of khuylostan. I bet they went ape-shit over this, because clearly the surprises are way from over.

  17. That bridge has been a target since day one. Key supply route

  18. Ooooh sheeeet, did they ask permission from the jaundice juggalo first?

  19. Hope these series of attacks puts Russia severely on the back foot. Bringing them to the table and not come back with a severe retaliation.

  20. Wouldn’t it be hysterical if Ukraine grabbed Crimea back and still defeated Putin?
