   I don’t care about the McCann case anymore and haven’t for a long time and it’s absolutely absurd how no other child gets the amount of funding and time spent looking for them like Kate and Gerry get looking for Maddie

   Imma be real honest, she’s 99.99% dead and has been since she went missing and my money has always been on Kate and Gerry having had some kind of involvement in her death, at the very least severe negligence of a child, either way I think they’re both responsible and should have both been incarcerated for their lack of parenting

   Every other month I end up seeing some pointless fucking news article about the McCann case and I genuinely think very few people actually care beyond the surface level of “poor missing child” at this point

   She ain’t coming home, she never was and will be

6. It’s at this stage I feel that we should just get all the cold case podcasters on it or a bunch of redditors. They’ll do a much better job and pretty much free.

9. Everyone loves shitting on the police for “not doing their job” and then when they actually spend decades trying to track down and imprison a child killer they guffaw at the waste of resources.

   The person they think killed this child is due to be released from prison in September. How is it a waste of resources to try to ensure this guy is convicted and doesn’t see the light of day again?

15. I think there is a case for setting a precedent to criminals with Madeline McCann though. If someone can be caught after 20 years it sends the message to anyone considering a similar crime that you will always get caught eventually.

16. A dozen police officers working three shifts of four to continually surveillance a single person would cost a vast amount more than a corpse search team in Portugal.

    It’s not even close.

    We are talking maybe a single cost of a few hundred thousand euros at the high end vs operational costs of literally millions a year at the very very low end.

    Of course that’s totally Ignoring the vast legal costs involved in the inevitable legal case due to the arbitrary decision to violate a persons rights under the European Convention on Human rights – which could run well into the tens of millions.

    I occasionally take the poss with work and pretend to have been busy working all day when really I’ve done nothing. I don’t think I could pretend to work for decades though.
