A bit of context:
1. On correct lane.
2. Indicator to turn right was well before turning right.
3. Suddenly showed up with no lights or reflectors on windy and grey day, overtaking me from right (you can see in the video that he was not in my sight and seem to have appeared from one of the side street).
4. By overtaking and not considering that there is a high chance that I might not have noticed him, especially with today’s wind, he put his life unnecessarily at risk.
The guy gave me dirty looks – I felt bad for not seeing him at all, and certainly would have apologised for him regardless whos at fault, but this incident made me check with other sane cyclists who might have a different opinion? Pls be constructive.

My two cents… don’t take them too serious.
I feel like you could have given him space in the beginning and merged into the bike lane a bit later, but he was definitely reckless and impatient.
cyclist was on bike lane. it’s not overtaking if they are in their lane. you have to yield if you go over striped lines. sorry to break it to you but you were 100% at fault here
You were driving in the bicycle lane almost all time (already after pedestrian crossing)… Way before you were supposed or able to steer right.
I guess I would have done the same as the other cyclist.
You should not block bicycle lane when unnecessary.
I think you are at fault here.
– You blocking the bike lane all the way (on purpose?)
– You are responsible to check for bikers at the lane change
Your reflector and light argument is a “Nebelpetarde” to feel better.
Cyclist is kind of suicidal.
What is the brand of the car?
Bicyclist has the right of way, because that’s his lane. However personally I wouldn’t risk my health by doing something like this.
You are in the wrong. 1 – You were driving inside a bike lane. 2 – He did not “overtake from the right” because he was where he was supposed to be. It is your responsibility as a car driver to make sure there is no one in any lane you are planning to cross or merge into, before you do it.
He drove past you way before you had to move to the right, this one is on you. But as a cyclist I’m always aware that I am far more vulnerable and would have waited because you had your indicator on. Still, it’s your responsability to always check your mirror and look to the left before you ride over the bicycle lane.
You were driving in the bike lake, didn’t properly check your mirrors and then turned further into the bike lane putting someone’s life at risk. The cyclist has the right of way here. You must yield to them. It’s the law, and for good reason. People literally die sometimes when drivers don’t check their mirrors before crossing cycle lanes.
It is your job as the motor vehicle driver to make sure it is safe when you turn. It is not your job to block anyone from accessing / passing in the cycle lane.
You were crowding the bicycle lane in order to block it (hence his disapproving scowl).
You were nowhere near the turn off before he passed you.
Cyclist is not at fault here, you are.
NAL, but I believe that the lack of road-legal lighting on the bike would at the very least be cause for shared liability. So both are at fault. Probably the car driver more so than the cyclist though, all things considered.
