My dad used to hear up red lemonade & feed us that! But I remember having flat 7UP as well.
They’ll be feeling better in no time.
Avoid covid for over two years, and now it comes in from the school. Vaccinated and all, but fucking dying here. Doing this every three or six months for the next forever is grim.
I swear it was a turning point two weeks ago when I was recovering from Covid. Immediate improvement. And if it’s just placebo it’s a tasty one.
Idk but did anyone notice recipe for em fizzy drinks isn’t the same, dunno if it’s those shitty sugar taxes, but many fizzy drinks nowadays taste flat.
I thought it needed to be flat
Fido Dido was the original big pharma
They should make it over the counter at this stage
Ahh Irish penicillin
Any calpol for dessert?
YOU ABUSIVE SON OF A BITCH
I see bubbles in that. It’s useless unless it’s flat
All fact based it an instant rehydration
Post is an hour old, he’s probably cured already and outside chopping up large logs of wood for the fire.
Is it cocaine?
This is an ad for 7up
Ginger Nut biscuits too when he’s able to eat again if it’s a stomach problem.
Well, shite. I thought Jameson was Ireland’s finest medicine. No wonder my kids slept so well when they were sick.
I’m allergic to lime but didn’t find out until my 20s. So every time I got sick as a kid the “medicine” would only make me worse. So what would my parents do? Give me more boiled 7up….
Remember it has to be flat 7up
Pure Oirish shite.
my mam used to add salt to it to make it flat, we would call it uppy guppy haha
What is it?
My Irish grand father’s fix was warm brandy. I don’t understand how it was supposed to make me fell better!
Interesting to see a stirring method. I’m one for pouring the 7up back and forth betwixt two glasses
I like the Brennans cameo in the background.
ok but how long did you leave the bottle out for? it’s very important to get the timing just right, because if it hasn’t been left out to go flat for long _enough_, then the medicine will prove ineffective. on the other hand, (now this is the important part), if you leave it out for _too_ long, then the medicine’s effectiveness will hit the integer limit, looping back around to -9 quintillion. this will cause the illness to become stronger very rapidly, absorbing the 7up’s energy and eventually taking full control of it’s host. at that point, it’s best for the patient’s family to say their farewells to them, within their final moments.
Whiskey?
Ooooh, the fancy stuff!
None of yer Lidl Freeway lemon and lime snake oil for ye. No way Hose
I feel like yore dangerously low on breannans for when he turns the corner and needs some plain toast…
Please, when did Ireland go soft? Go to the cabinet, grab the Vicks vapo rub, smear it on their chest, put a t-shirt on top and off to bed.
Sure, it doesn’t do anything…but it’s the old way.
Add a few grains of sugar to a glass of 7up takes all the bubbles out immediately. Hope your 5 yr old is feeling better soon.
This. Is the way.
Wait till the anti vaxxers hear about this
Had to be done!
There was an order to how my mam used to treat us. With gaps of maybe 4 hours between doses/treatment cycles:
1 Sweet tea and Burnt Toast
2 Flat 7-up (boiled in a saucepan)
3 Flat Gingerale (just stirred to flatness, never boiled)
4 Drop of Whiskey (she used to put some in a saucer and light it with a match to burn the alcohol off)
5 Drop of brandy (same saucer prep as 4)
6 Drop of poteen (straight no burning)
That was your 24 hour care and I only got to Level 6 once ever with the mumps! I presume Level 7 would have been South Doc or death.
Once upon a time, original 7Up would have really set you right. It contained both lithium citrate (a powerful anti-psychotic) and cocaine. Yummy.
