  1. The rounded edges make it easier to mold with less imperfections resulting in less QC losses. Making it waaaaaay more profitable than the 8% smaller size might suggest.

  2. They absolutely wrecked what was once superb. If anyone is looking for a top quality chocolate, Tesco Finest Belgian bars are delicious and extremely good quality, properly tempered, properly sweetened chocolate.

  3. Honestly I blame Mondelez for this, I feel like the chocolate has gone down hill since they bought Cadbury.they’ve been trying to mke the chocolate cheaper without caring about the quality, and all that’s doing is making it so people switch to other chocolate.Cadbury is popular because they make good chocolate, if the quality drops nobody is going to buy it any more

  4. Has the weight of the bar changed or just the shape? Because if the weight hasn’t changed then you’re still getting the same amount of chocolate just in a different shape. I live in Canada now so I can’t check for myself 😅

  5. Looking at the mould it could be shrinkflation but it also could be that they adapted the mould for the cadburies caramel bar and then just used the same mould for standard milk.

If you have a square mould with a caramel filling you have a thinner shell, fats in the caramel (butter, coconut oil whatever) migrate faster and the chocolate will bloom more often and some consumers mistake bloom for mould.
A pillow shape gives you a more even thickness on the shell around caramel and reduces blooming.

So could be shrinkflation but could also just be a design decision to reduce blooming in any of their filled bars… not that ant of it matters cadburies is meh at best.

  6. Did this just happen? I bought one a few days ago and it was square. If I see this abomination in shops I’m done

  7. We all knew they were at it, We just needed science to prove it, the scoundrels!
That’s why I’m havein to eat a multipack these days..

  8. I genuinely don’t mind this kind of thing. By all means, shave off 8% of the calories for me without me realising I’m eating less.

  9. I had a similar thought about bars like aero. I like them and all but when you think about it, it’s just a way for them to make a bar with less chocolate

  10. Fuck cadburys and fuck nestle. They use child labour and don’t give a flying fuck about environmental protection. They are also both continuing to sell in Russia, pouring that blood money into Putin’s coffers

  11. Palm oil then. That’s a mystery solved. I was wondering when Cadburys bars started tasting oily and shit. I thought maybe my palette had changed but I guess not. Well, never buying those bars again anyway.
