Vatican reveals what new Pope told Putin in phone call

The Kremlin said Donald Trump was not the only person Vladimir Putin had on the phone today – with the Russian president also speaking to Pope Leo XIV.
The Vatican has said the Pope urged Russia to take a step to support peace in its war with Ukraine.
He also underlined the importance of dialogue in finding solutions to the conflict.
It is not the first time the new Pope has spoken about the war in Ukraine.
In one of his first greetings to Italian pilgrims, he said his thoughts often turn to “the Ukrainian people affected by new serious attacks against civilians and infrastructure.”
