  1. Putin invading Ukraine, that’s utter madness. The rise in living costs, the conglomerates who find ways out of paying tax, the fraud let go by Sunak – these are all utter madness. ***Fast & The Furious 10.*** Utter madness.

A local council switching to vegan meals for Climate-related meetings… is /r/mildyinteresting at best. Not everything is a column, Clarkson.

  2. They probably thought they were doing a good thing.

But as people usually do, they also didn’t make any effort to find out if they really were.

It’s likely to be incompetence rather than malice.

  3. I didnt realise what a beserk button vegan/vegetarianism is for people until my work tried to get a meat free monday going.

There were five times more comments on the intranet article about it than one about a round of redundancies

  4. This is just nothing. So what if they bought food from different places. There’s bigger issues then “Oh no, the council purchased pineapples.” My local council tends to be shite and our MP is a miserable looking wanker that barely does anything for the town.

  5. Is anyone else irritated by the recent tendency to use “plant based” to mean “made entirely from plants with absolutely nothing else”?

Per normal use of language, I would have thought “plant based” should mean “plants are the main ingredients”, but it could include other things as well. After all, if a meal or diet was described as meat based”, I don’t think that would stop it a few vegetable ingredients too.
