Paris Hilton wants to be remembered as a celebrity who gives back: ‘I’ve done so many iconic things in my life, but the thing I am most proud of is passing my bill in federal legislation to protect children from abuse.’

I’m going to remember you for being homophobic and racist

I will never hate on a celeb for using their platform to actually help people, especially if it is for a noble cause or initiative. Sometimes causes need a face that can be recognizable to make people care. We just need to be careful of who represents said causes. Because a person with faults on their records can tank their cause or initiative (Ashton Kutcher is a great recent example).
People can have a checkered past, but those same people need to acknowledge it and not push it away. Someone recently walked me through Paris Hilton’s recent history and her acknowledgement of her initial rise to fame (which was what I knew her for), and she seems like she’s really grown as a person. And her not going the traditional route of collecting money for a BS self-owned charity, and her actual working with legislatures (probably even paying for time, let’s be honest) and getting a bill through shows that.
Her racism and bigotry are all I remember her for.
One of the main stories she pushed to get her bill passed was girl I grew up with (school, Sunday school, sports, etc.)
Let’s just say, the girl I know’s story about her boarding school doesn’t exactly match the reality we all knew. Not saying the conditions of the school wasn’t rough, but she tells a lot of lies about why she ended up there. Also claims the school made her a drug addict (she was sent because she was addicted to hard drugs in early high school).
She will be remembered for thinking Walmart is where they sell walls.
She’s racist and homophobic. Get bent!
I’m OOTL. She was bigoted?
She’ll be remembered as a self-centered POS who thinks doing a couple of good deeds for media attention will make everyone forget how totally useless she’s been. A person’s legacy is established over an entire lifetime not just as they approach the finish line.
Her and I have very different definitions of the word iconic……
So many iconic things! SMH.
what did she do to protect children? is she protecting her own kids by showing them online? she’s still whoring herself out for fame so what has really changed?
Its one of the few things she’s done worthy of being proud of so that makes sense.
Even the people you hate, can be capable of good things.
Good for you paris. I probably won’t remember this above all of the other dumb and racist shit you’ve pulled, but won’t deny where you got something right.
What about all the animal rights stuff she did! During the fires she was trying to reunite lost pets with their owners. She is an icon and will remembered for all the good she did.
I’m torn because I don’t want her remembered at all but I also don’t want people referencing her in the present either. I wish she just never was.
Unfortunately she will be remembered as the billionaire heiress who is famous for being famous, she was basically a kardashian without the body transmogrifications
She will be remembered as the queen of the upskirt shots.
She’s born into wealth…. That’s it. So enjoy that and stop with the bs.
Nah, she sucks and didn’t help anyone.
That’s nice but I’ll always remember her as the woman that thought she invented the selfie
Certainly gives something….
I’ll remember her for being portrayed in South Park.
She will be remembered for ONE NIGHT IN PARIS.
I mainly remember her being a rich heiress and having a leaked sex tape
Wasn’t there a pretty memorable video?
Besides the bigotry which she very much deserves hate for, it’s really sad how men are allowed to enjoy the pleasures of life and still be allowed recognition for their good deeds, but a woman enjoying the pleasures of life is a demon monster whore who can never be redeemed no matter how much good she’s done.
Pats self on back
As a fellow TTI survivor, I have no problem with Paris Hilton patting herself on the back for the advocacy work she’s done. She’s made meaningful change and is still going. She has my respect.
“I’ve done so many iconic things in my life”
She lost me with this one boastful, idiotic sentence.
No, you did not. You were a rich girl who had her own reality show where you influenced naïve young girls to idolize you. I’d bet you’ve done a lot of damage in your life. It’s thanks to you that we have the Kardashians.
It’s good that you are fighting against horrible residential treatment facilities, but isn’t that because you were directly affected by them?
Like with Ivanka Trump, there will always be people who don’t care what you’ve done in your past just because they think they’ll benefit from being around you now. And these people will “believe” whatever PR campaign gets thrown their way.
But you’ll never become a person of quality with this behavior.
If you want to be remembered as a good person, try harder.
I read that quote with vocal fry
A helping hand is a helping hand, clean or dirty.
I only remember her from her very own south park episode 🍍🍍🍍
All il ever remember is watching “one night in Paris” hundreds of times as a teenager
