Times are tough that people need two jobs nowadays, to stay afloat.
This is really odd. Nobody knew they’d have to continue paying him indefinitely?

I don’t know enough about this, but if this is not an unusual practice in the public sector, then I don’t see an issue.
This just seems like a scheme the department cooked up to let their buddy keep his fat pension and the full pay of a CMO.
Its not easy keeping that holiday home afloat!
I’m very surprised that Trinity didn’t have to do open recruitment. Creating a highly paid role for someone and just appointing someone too it seems to go against so many public sector recruitment policies.
If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s most likely a duck.
This lools like cronyism so the most likely thing is it is imo. The fact that this is considered normal is even more alarming

I understand that there is a process whereby public servants can be seconded but not that they keep their original salary for the job that they aren’t doing.
I’m staggered to wonder why anyone is surprised.
3 hefty pensions to retire on.
