Romanians living abroad are being targeted by a widespread disinformation campaign using official looking fake conscription letters sent to their homes. This is the only article in English I could find. This is what hybrid war looks like. It’s not just rumours on tik tok anymore.

3. Russia operates like the Nigerian Prince scam but on a much bigger scale, it targets everyone with the most absurd shenanigans and there’s a big enough pool of idiots in every country to eventually turn the tide in their favour. I honestly don’t know how we can fight this.

4. Alright, but how dumb can someone be to not understand that said letter is a scam/hoax?

   A 30 seconds Google Search (or check Romanian news websites or government websites) would immediately tell them that there is no conscription or anything like that…

   At some point we need to stop excusing the people who show such little logic in their thinking and will fall for anything.

5. I know someone who was packing his bags in panic when the 2nd round of elections was annuled in December. He thought it’s over, they’re dragging us to war. His wife had to calm him the fuck down.

   If some people STILL can’t get it in their heads that nobody is conscripting them, idk…

   This is what extreme lack of trust in the institutions does to people. Forget institutions not working for them, they think they want to sacrifice them in a war…

6. Imagine a world where we all didn’t have to deal with Russians on the internet anymore….

   I bet 70% of world conflicts and aggression would just fucking disappear.

   We should start cutting their cables in retaliation…but we still have Musk starlink and Co to deal with so I guess we’d never hear the end of it…

   Russians are exploiting the west’s greatest weakness. The placid zombies that just spend all their days on the net. 

   And that’s the entire lives of many western people…they’ve gone past just using it for entertainment, they’ve become absolutely dependent on it.  

7. And this is why the EU needs to wake up and start defending itself from (cyber) attacks and lies spread by russia.
