  4. It’s a shame Linehan went the way he did with the Rowling mind virus. Father Ted, the IT Crowd and Motherland were all incredible. Ruined one of the best careers in Irish and British television for fighting with randomers on twitter.

  5. I am not Irish but Derry Girls is a massive hit here in the Nordic countries – once it came on Netflix a lot of people got into it and there has been a rise in interest in Irish media since. I honestly think the show did a lot for people’s image of Northern Ireland here and Irish media. Since then I notice people talking about Ireland more, visiting more and seeking out Irish media.

  8. Not shitting on either show, but getting excited about something being in the “Top 250” of *anything* is ridiculous.

  9. No Fair City on the list? For the three quarters of a billion bailout the taxpayer had to give RTE last year you would assume it’s flagship show must be a Game of Thrones level of production. They couldn’t really be pissing away all that money on flip flops and admin salaries. No wait. They are.
