Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back Generation Patient founded by 13-year-old Sneha Dave
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are backing a young trailblazer’s mission to reform health and tech spaces.
The Archewell Foundation has pledged its support to Generation Patient, a youth-led health equity group founded by 13-year-old Sneha Dave (now 26), after the Duke of Sussex met her at the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund conference in Brooklyn this April.
After meeting Harry, Dave voiced growing concerns about how Big Tech platforms are promoting pharmaceutical content.
“We don’t know how the FDA works with these companies to try to flag to make sure there’s not misinformation being spread by influencers advertising these prescription medications,” she told TechCrunch.
Generation Patient specifically targets the unchecked rise of pharmaceutical ads aimed at teens via social media, a space where regulatory oversight remains murky.
As Archewell highlighted on its website, the organisation’s work focuses on “increasing oversight on pharmaceutical ads on social media.”
Dave, now the youngest principal investigator recognised by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, also serves on the advisory board of the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund.
