The irony behind this is that the name choice probably is more related to someone realizing that the name will provoke people to give them free marketing, than it actually being a very common name in Sweden.

We have these in the Netherlands also. Half of them seem to have Middle Eastern names. Haven’t got one with my own name, even though my first name is pretty common.
I guess Arabs love Coca-Cola…

a friend of mine who is the whitest of white is named Omar, I never understood when he said that he had a name that didn’t fit him until much.
I still don’t associate the name Omar with people that aren’t native to my country because of it.
