Who gets a crown for second place? Surely that’s a bunch of daffodils at best?
It is a positive. But we are still putting a lot of residual municipal waste in landfills compared to other countries. Based on a quick google 176kg per person a year in Wales. Germany, Denmark and Japan are under 10kg and Switzerland is down to just about 0.
I find this very hard to believe I walked down the Teifi yesterday and the amount of domestic rubbish in black bags, that had split open along the river was heartbreaking.
And at what cost? £20m to Denbighshire to swap bins for Troliblocs. 15,000 complaints over missed collections. The £400k saving from the scheme has turned out to be £1.2m over budget and currently no predictions on costs for 25/26
