Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz on Friday warned Hamas to accept a US ceasefire proposal “or be annihilated”. While the Palestinian militant group said it was still reviewing the plan, US President Donald Trump said an agreement on a Gaza ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas was “very close”.

The Israeli government said "Hamas has to accept or be exter- Erm- Hamas has to accept or be Annihilated"
Because the word he had planned to say was not politically correct. The other was more palletable to the international audience.
They are not hostages they are all IDF soldiers that are left. Which makes them POW’s
If all hostages are not returned immediately then there's nothing to even talk about.. as for the civilians remaining in the area.. how many of these civilians cheered as dead, raped bodies were paraded for them by hamas? So other than the extremely young, I'm not really sure how many are not involved with terrorism, in one form or another…. watching crowds of Palestinians cheer murder on international broadcasts has been going on all my life and it's not something that makes one feel particularly sympathetic..
