  6. Was that intentional? If it was following a preprogrammed route, that tower could’ve gotten in the way of the actual target

  7. I am afraid it’s rather “drone course plotted without awareness of electrical lines” than a targeted destruction. The tower itself is very resilient due to its open framework construction and repairing the line won’t take more than a few hours.

    Unless they wanted to cut power to a very specific object with a very specific timing, which is of course also possible.

    But in general it’s the risk all long range drones have to manage. Early attempts to get drones through to Moscow ended up with drones getting stuck in trees often enough.

  9. I do not understand why attacks on Russian power infrastructure are not more prevalent from Ukraine. A guy with a handgun could go around shooting transformers and no one would know anything (except from the sound) for hours until the oil runs out.
