Have wanted to visit this location for years. Would 100% recommend for anyone who has never made the trip.

  19. I did a stint as a National Trust room attendant at Lindisfarne Castle—essentially a polite bouncer. My chief duties were stopping people from fondling and nicking stuff and answering questions. I was so afraid of being caught out that I practically memorised the entire history of the place. Essentially it’s a gun platform transformed into a rich man’s holiday home.

    In the end, the question I heard most often was, “Is it haunted?”

  23. We used to go there on holiday when I was a kid, we’d rent a cottage for a week and spend it exploring everywhere.

    I used to love going to the graveyard on the way down yo st Cuthbert’s Isle and try to find the oldest grave there

    Last time I was there it was covered in scaffolding.
