Activity in Riga was 19.07%, followed by Vidzeme – 16.26%, Latgale – 14.42%, Zemgale – 13.68% and Kurzeme – 13.52%.

So far, the highest turnout has been in Valka municipality, where 20.45% of voters have already voted. In Preiļi municipality, 19.54% have voted, in Ādaži municipality – 19.37%, in Saulkrasti municipality – 18.99%.

The lowest turnout has been in Rēzekne municipality, where 11.14% of voters have used the opportunity to vote early. In Bauska municipality, 11.5% have voted, in Kuldīga municipality – 11.74%.

This year, 1,377,183 residents have the right to vote. 

The main local government election day is Saturday, June 7, when polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In municipal elections, voters can vote at any polling station in their local municipality.

Local government elections  are being held in 42 districts and 948 polling stations. Results are likely to be forthcoming on Sunday.
