The aircraft losses for the invaders this week have been nothing short of staggering. Putin responds with massive attacks on civilians. His desperation and insanity have no limits.
Was it confirmed that it was a F-16 who shot it down? Have not seen anything mentioning what shot it down?
Surprising to hear this is the first. I guess A2A isn’t really a thing anymore?
They have been using F16 for cruise missiles as well…so not first air to air kill
With degradation to their AWACS capabilities, fuel logistics, etc. coupled with the attrition to and redeployment of air defense I can easily see the air war turning more to Ukraine’s favor at this point.
Russia’s key SAM systems have suffered some pretty heavy losses and they’ve had to spread them out even further afield due to longer range attacks, meaning fewer near the front line air combat areas.
Russian fighters can no longer operate within or as near to a friendly air defense umbrella, although that umbrella was always a two edged sword given Russian “own goal” incidents. Couple that with degraded AWACS and Ukraine’s shiny new fighters and ever better air to air weapons and we might just be witnessing the opening of Sukhoi hunting season.
This pilot doesn’t have to buy a drink for the rest of his life 👍🙏🇺🇦💪 how many more until he’s an ace?
The failure of the Russian airforce to subdue their Ukrainian counterpart is really the most shocking part of the war.
Even day 1, I expected them to have trouble on the ground (though not as much as they did), but I didn’t expect the Ukrainian Air Force to remain any threat to the Russians for more than a few weeks.
If this gets confirmed and the F-16 got an intercept in Ukraine, The Kid is going to be so incredibly irate 🤣
What is so infuriating is that when the aid taps were flowing it was constantly said that F-16’s weren’t useful. It’s ridiculous to think that air cover and stopping Russian glide bombing isn’t useful. And there are tons of older F-16’s that have modern radars and all that could have easily been sent. It was the BS fear of escalation that prevented it.
Su35 may be a very good fighter but in the end it matters little if it doesn’t operate as part of a coherent support network. Maybe F16 did not down the russian but forced him to fly straight in the engagement bubble of a SAM.
I hope the pilot is not OK
Good . Fuck ruZZia
Slava Heroyam!
Most of what I have read is it’s an act of desperation when an adversary attacks civilians. Kinda like their last option, because they lack the capabilities to execute a decisive military response. Kinda like they can’t hurt the person so they kick their dog.
So much for Russian 5th gen haha.
I wonder how the Ghost of Kyiv would have done in the Fighting Falcon!
Or shall we say this was the Ghost of Kyiv
Get em boys 💪
Would be a helluva PR coup if officially confirmed a Ukrainian F-16 shot down a Russian Su-35. Until then we should remain skeptical.
ngl it would be crazy cool to hear a Ukrainian F-16 pilot broadcast “Fox three, fox three on the Flanker” in a cockpit HUD recording if Ukraine’s MoD releases footage to confirm.
I love it
It was not an F-16
Stop making shit up
Do you guys remember when that one Russian SU-35 buzzed an American F-16 over Alaska?

Consider this revenge.
