(UPDATE) PERFORMING razor sharp as if he didn’t have a 10-month layoff following a historic Paris Olympics run last year, Carlos Yulo snared the gold medal in floor exercise at the 2025 Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Senior Asian Championships in Jecheon, South Korea, Saturday afternoon.

Yulo garnered 14.600 points built on 5.700 in difficulty, 8.800 in execution, and a 0.100 bonus for his clean and exquisite performance in the final, where he treated the fans with his dazzling acrobatic moves.

The 4-foot-11 dynamo showcased a lethal combination of power and grace in his twirls and tumbling, which he mostly ended by sticking his landing on the mat.

The act proved more than enough for the 25-year-old to win the event for the fourth straight year.

Karimi Milad of Kazakhstan finished second to Yulo with a total of 14.400 points, while Moon Geonyoung completed the podium with 14.033.

Conquering the floor exercise event, the same contest where one of his two Paris gold medals came from, Yulo hiked his medal tally in the tournament to two.

The other one was a bronze medal in individual all-around, where he scored 83.633 points on Thursday.

Yulo also competed in still rings, where he scored 13.233 — 4.900 in difficulty and 8.333 in execution — for a seventh-place finish in the eight-man final.

The job’s not finished for Yulo as he competes in parallel bars, horizontal bar, and his pet event, the vault final on Sunday.

Yulo’s younger brother Eldrew also vies for medals in the Junior division as he competes in the finals of floor exercise, horizontal bar, pommel horse, and vault, where he is the defending champ.

Eldrew scored an average of 13.250 points on Friday in the qualification where the top eight advanced to the championship round.

The 16-year-old finished ninth in the individual all-around with a total of 75.698 points.
