Thought his international retirement would be coming soon (i.e. this year or next). Just disappointed it had to happen like this.
Lil crybaby got upset booo hoooo. He was always a jerk, particularly when playing in the representation. It should be good for the team, who must start playing as a team, not as a background to a whining “superstar”.
You either play for your nation or refuse and show your ego. Lewandowski behaves really bad here. Błaszczykowski had true spirit. For me Lewa has never been a true leader he was meant to be.
Lol typical. The Polish team has always been about ego and drama; delivering absolute shit on the field. To be honest no matter the coach or players, unless they actually want to see Polska win, it won’t change
Give this guy a break!
He has recently admitted to be burned-out mentally and due his age can’t obviously recover and cope with the stress and fatigue as quickly anymore.
Add to the fact that national team is managed by two bums (Probierz and Kulesza) and I am not surprised that he just couldn’t do it anymore…
Another example that having a Polish manager is the worst in any company, big ego, lack of competence, can fire you because you breathe.
The coach decides who the captain is. Lewandowski throwing this temper tantrum like an immature baby only proves that Probiez was right in his call. You should never put yourself over a team. Lewy does not have to like it but he should humbly accept this decision, plain and simple.
Finally…
Fawk him let him go kick some balls for Duda
I agree with the decision, not with the style.
Yesterday during Portugal-Spain match, commentator said that Robert won’t be playing for the national team due to his conflict with Probierz. It was before midnight, so a very weird time for such things.
The fact that Michał Probierz is one of the worst coaches our team has ever had, our matches are literally sad to watch. And stripping Lewandowski of his captain band sure sounds like a political/power play rather than an actual decision dictated by what’s the best for the team.
Oh no! Anyway.
What a legend. A shame it ended like this
I understand both of them.
I understand Lewy, he’s old for a football player, he’s one of the best strikers in the world for over a decade now, he has many huge successes in his career – and none of it in the national team and yet, he’s undeniably the best player this team has ever had. He’s really trying his best, he has scored the most goals, played the most games and so on and it’s never enough. The team sucks as a whole and Lewy as a striker can’t really carry this alone, but people expect him to and mock him every time he fails to deliver, like every loss is his fault. I truly understand he doesn’t want to play anymore and rather focus on his club career while it still lasts. National team only brings him frustration, humiliation and a risk of career ending injury.
On the other hand what he did is unprofessional, even childish. I also understand Probierz cannot let him do that, the disrespect from Lewy when he announced he’s not coming had to be met with consequences, otherwise he loses his authority as a coach. I don’t blame either of them for the “conflict”. Lewy has had enough, Probierz can’t let him disrespect the team like that. Sad story, like everything that happens around our dear team.
I am surprised that he kept doing that for so long with this band of talentless kickers led by talentless trainers.
Good for him. Polish fans always were vocal how he does not score so much as for league teams he play for (come on lol) and never respected him anyway.
I am Chinese and support Lewandowski very much because I like Bayern. I wonder what my friends in Poland think of Lewandowski?
