  9. According to the article the F-16 took out a Su-35. 

    That is great news considering the F-16 given to Ukraine are old. And Su-35 is supposed to be one of Russia’s newer fighter jets.

    So F-16A still packs a punch with the assistance of Swedish Saab radar plane.

  11. This is what happens when you supply Ukraine with the stuff they need to win, not to just scrape by. Give more to Ukraine.

    Ukraine recently received a Swedish Saab 340 AEW&C (airborne early warning and control) – small plane, big radar on top. It can see threats up to 400km out and tell the F-16 about them before the Russian Su-35 even knows the F-16 is there. This is a proper modern air force and this is something Russia isn’t prepared for.

  20. If anyone is wondering why the next generation fighters like the F-35 are all about stealth at the expense of almost everything else, this is why.

    Missiles are so good that the only defense is not being spotted until it’s too late.

But networked command and control communications is a massive advancement for their capabilities.

    They now have the capability to share real time targeting information from both ground and air based systems directly with their front line forces. So now older weapon systems like the F16 can “see”well beyond their original limits and are far more effective.

  24. So the UKR pilots, most are coming from Russian based planes. How do they like the Western counterparts?

    I have read some brief note that they are not too found Western air combat strategy, but curious about the planes.
