On June 9, the Bureau of the Parliament of Georgia approved the composition of friendship groups with various countries. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia was not included in the list.
The parliamentary bureau explained that there is a political decision to create friendship groups with the Baltic countries, but none of the deputies from the ruling party wants to work in them.
Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said that this is a natural reaction “to the unfriendly policy of these countries towards the Georgian people.”
EADaily reported that representatives of the Baltic countries directly interfered in the internal affairs of Georgia, personally participating in anti-government protests. In addition, the authorities of these countries imposed sanctions against representatives of the ruling Georgian Dream.
