Israel has transferred Patriot systems to Ukraine, which were previously in service with the Israeli army, Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Brodsky said.

  1. It’s really good to see this.

It certainly strongly suggests that Israel is no longer seeing Russia as an ally. They were close in the past.

  2. SystemS, in plural? Like in more than one full battery or as in a couple of launchers + radar and control units….?

  3. Seems like they understand the fact also israel needs the right friends in the future.

  4. Interesting ,they just got those newer missiles from the USA? ALL the fucking missiles should go to Ukraine, they need them every day all day, right now!

  5. Israel needing good varma after the stole a lot of rockets from Ukraine.

  6. Once Russia allied with Iran, I was hoping this would happen. Israel is a far better ally in terms of intelligence and capability.

  7. It’s missiles for these systems that will be the issue. If they can’t be manufactured outside of the US the supply could become an issue if trump carries on with his love of Putin

  8. Wait, doesn’t Israel need those for their “defensive” war against Palestinian children?

  9. I hate to rain on everybody’s parade, but where the hell are you getting the number 8 from?
Clearly there’s a high chance that nobody will tell us the actual number, but 8 is not reported anywhere that I can see.
On the other hand, there’s no way the Israelis only had one system to decommission-8 or more seems more likely.
Sources for the magic 8 ball please, and I will clap with joy, but until then, it’s a case of something being better than nothing, but only just.

  10. Huh, that’s kinda unexpected….someone should check those launchers beforehand for sabotage.

  11. Ukraine should offer to buy some of the Iron Domes from Israel or maybe David Sling since Trumps punk ass won’t sell any Patriots to Ukraine I’m sure he would sell them to his buddy Putin though.

  12. About bloody time. I know there’s a large Russian contingent in Israel, but Israel needs to do a free positive thing right now.

  13. I think we are a bit lacking in detail but that may be due to secrecy. I do recall past articles about the potential for Israel to transfer Patriot systems to Ukraine as it made its switch to its own indigenous systems.

But we don’t know what has been transferred: complete systems or just components such as individual launchers. Nor whether Ukraine is receiving a new allocation of Patriot missiles.

Ukraine is husbanding it’s Patriot missile supply from what I have read: trying to use them only against ballistic and fast moving missiles as well as attempting to target Russian air assets. And using IRIS-T and NASAMS for cruise missiles, and other systems for drones.

  14. Does anyone know if these particular ones are link 16 enabled. Ukraine just got the codes to allow them to use l16 and its a system allowing various radar and strike elements to talk to each other.

Patriot is traditionally anti missile but Ukraine used some of them before very creatively to hit aircraft. Russian Air force might be in for more bad days soon…
