Britons buy more electric cars in March than in whole of 2019

  1. Sadly 83.9% of all cars sold in March were still running on dinosaur juice, so there’s still a lot of planet wreckers out there. Hope they’re enjoying paying £1.80 a litre.

At this point going out and buying a brand new car and deliberately choosing 20th century tech is just madness. It’s like going out to get a new phone and buying a Blackberry.

  2. I’ve seen more Teslas in a week then the last few years combined – thought it was my mind playing tricks !

  3. I owned my old car outright and sold it when we were all made remote but I did some fag packet maths last week and, if I was still commuting, it would now be a similar cost per month to lease a new lower-mid tier electric car than it would to fill up my old car with diesel.

So, yeah, I’d be one of these stats for sure.

  4. “But nobody has any money as the Tories have upped taxes so high, waah waah waah.”

Yeah, this and the sheer amount of people on the high streets shopping this weekend just gone by shows the WHOLE COUNTRY IS STRUGGLING isn’t it with rising costs and having “no money”..

  5. Electric cars are the only new cars available with a complete set of chips in them. All the other stuff is stuck in production due to lack of electronic parts!!

  6. The more people who buy electric cars, the better for the petrolheads.

This way, they can keep there hobby, and we can still help reach a better climate… and everyone is happy.

After all, horses didn’t all suddenly stop being used when the car took over, they just became uses for sports and hobbies.

On a side note, the only reason I didn’t get an EV is because I didn’t find the ones I could afford that are exciting to drive for my price range even with fuel prices added.
