High Court dismisses judicial review challenge against 579ft-high wind farm in Clare

  2. The judge sounded pretty annoyed at the case. They were arguing that some historic wood would be cut down, but in reality only 0.2% would be affected.
    He also hinted that it’s a weaponistion of development plans to suit protest groups.

  3. I live in the village beside the wind farm location and was one of the objectors. My main issue is the lack of infrastructure around here to cater for the endless lorries and plant coming through for months/years on end. I know there are some road upgrades included in the plan but we’ve had a lot of difficulty here over the past few years with lorries and quarry trucks on narrow country roads going through a village.

    Not sure how I feel about Clare’s highest point being dotted with wind turbines. Will be cool to see but also a shame.
