I hate this meme/concept – not that the media cycle isn’t obviously manipulated, but that people are somehow not able to think about more than one thing in a given week.

An American president deploying combat against his own citizens who are protesting because they’re rounding people up and deporting them without hearings is a pretty big deal.
This is much more than Trump’s normal bad judgement.
Military being deployed against US citizens hardly qualifies as a distraction, it’s a massive fucking scandal in it’s own right. Investigating who punched Elon in his Nazi face, that’s a distraction.
Normal human beings have the ability to think about more than one thing at a time.
