The Tories have created the NHS crisis – and they should own it

  1. The Tories have ruined so many parts of the UK, yet have done it in a way that makes sure many people will not blame them.

It is what they are doing with the BBC. The Tories have continuously cut the BBC’s funding but then complained that the BBC are showing too many repeats, among other complaints. They then use these complaints about the BBC to justify cutting the BBC’s funding even more.

The Tories have created the issues in the BBC, yet have pretended as if they are the fault of the BBC in order to try to get the public to blame the BBC. It’s a disgrace.

  2. The conservative party is the creation of donors for access to the levers in Westminster. Getting enough votes to avail this is the only reason they exist.

Exploiting the lucrative health industry for donor’s benefit is part of this.

  3. The Tories have mismanaged virtually every single thing they have touched.

Not only is the NHS under greater strain than ever, we are facing a cost of living crisis worse than 2008 – one which lies *solely* at their feet.

They are not a competent party, and should be nowhere near power at any time.

  4. Again, they are making the NHS so bad that people pay for private medical care (some get into crippling debit) to then say…. look the general public want a private health care system, look at the up take in the last 5 years… but it’s only because they have ruined a once well organised system. My partner and many of my family work for the NHS in various roles and they say they can see the squeeze for this.

  5. The NHS should be rolling in money at the moment and able to fill all staffing gaps because Boris said “Let’s give our NHS the £350 million the EU takes every week”

  6. It is going the same way as the railways. They sell off the infrastructure (hospital buildings, X-ray machines etc) to private companies. Who then rent it back at higher price, all funded by the tax payer. Their buddies get rich and we get screwed.

People are worried the Tories will sell off the NHS, the joke is they have been doing it subtly for the last 15 years.

  7. the NHS has always been in crisis, the biggest issue is that we keep old people alive for so long.

  8. NHS funding has increased with the Tories. Just the rate of increase has slowed.

This implies the NHS crisis is actually caused by a combination of an aging population, pandemic & increases in treatments.

    Stupid fucking guardian.

  9. Yeah let’s not blame the sheer volume of pricks in this country who refused day one to wear a mask, countless of you still not wearing masks, then go all surprised face when Covid levels and hospitilizations rise.

ALso, it’s filled with too many old people trying to live seemingly forever. Die in a ditch so the 20 somethings etc can get their cancer treatment, and we can fund more toward mental health issues etc.

  10. The tories haven’t created the NHS crisis, the general public have. The NHS is doing things it was never designed to do. It’s no wonder it is creaking. Frankly, all parties need to get together and have a serious debate about the future of the NHS, and just what it should and shouldn’t be doing. Of course, this doesn’t fit into the narrative of this sub, or any of the political parties ambitions, so won’t happen.
