    We can’t move in the National Guard. I can call insurrection but there’s no reason to ever do that, even in a Portland case. We can’t call in the National Guard unless we’re requested by a governor.

    Let’s all take a moment to read the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878.
    18 U.S. Code § 1385 – Use of Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Space Force as posse comitatus
    Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, or the Space Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

  9. They don’t give a shit what day, time or dimension it was in. It could have been a picture of a McDonalds receipt and the Fox News hosts would still say “check mate, newsom!” They’ll use anything to fit into their narrative and the details certainly do not matter to their base. She even says it was Friday night because she knows it doesn’t matter

  11. Saturday or Monday, or today, Newsome said no call ever was made, but clearly there was, on Saturday. As the story goes on to read, if you read the article through
    What you have here is a type of manipulation of news akin to a “bait and switch”.
    The bait: A screaming headline reflecting the opinions of the editorial staff, or the writer, or the corporate owner of The Boulder, or any mix or all of them. This headline is snapped up by folks with short attention spans and won’t really read the article all the way through.
    If you do you’ll read basically: Newsome said No call…. Trump says 16 minute call…. John Roberts had to go back and correct himself on the actual day.
    So technically Newsome is lying.
    For sure we know that John Roberts is either lazy, is relying on a staff to prepare his material. Either way when I worked in the mainstream media, when you went on the air you PREREAD EACH PIECE three times.
    Why? Simple. Does it sound correct? Is the syntax correct for the spoken word and are there any words in the piece that you will struggle to pronounce? Stumbling over your words loses you look or sound stupid.
    Which is exactly what the headline should have read. Something like:
    Fox News Anchor Embarrasses Himself on Live Broadcast with amateurish display of unpreparedness. Gets timeline wrong live.
    That’s IF the source we,were just reading wasn’t guilty of being completely slanted deep left. You used to have to have an FCC license and in most cases a broadcasting degree, either vocational or from a university. Clinton ended that opening the door to starry eyed college educated, subject to debate, “newscasters” and news writers all over the place.
    It’s appalling the level of bias, incompetence, and lack of the want or ability to DO the things that working in THE NEWS MEDIA requires if you want to be a trusted, pillar of the community that your newscasters and writers USED TO BE. I think the kids learned the hard way that The News is actual WAY more BORING than it seems from outside the industry.
    My personal favorite is this example of complacency, inexperience, ineptitude and incompetence of a major market “blowtorch” (that’s what the stations are called with really strong transmitters)….
    This was a follow up report, and I saw this LIVE on the Noon News.
    I present to you KTVU2 actually out of Oakland, not far from Jack London Square. Also, Gawker.com got it wrong as well when they say that it was a “NTSB Official” that released the names of the crew of a crashed 777 airliner at SFO airport. It was actually a NTSB INTERN who answered the phone and provided the info presented.
    Now the blowtorch KTVU2 has a whole News Department with scores of writers, producers, directors, editors and other staff, yet none of the scores of people could get over their excitement for “scooping” other outlets and rushed this on the air…
    This was almost 15 years ago. I got out about that time, but had a friend that worked for KPIX5 and he told me about the Intern, KPIX5 confirmed that fact, oh and the intern? Was fired immediately.
    You’re going to love this. It proves that media has been manipulating, screwing up, or just sleepwalking through was used to be a very important and respected profession.

If they choose to just overlook the fundamental fact that Ttrump lies about *everything*, I think the distinction of the call being brief, a completely different context, and 3 days before Trump says it happened is way to subtle for either FoxNews or their MAGA minions to ever wrap their pea-brained heads around. MAGA is literally built on the mountain of evidence that shows they are embracing the lie.
