>But Mr Flynn said: “I’ve gone into the House of Commons on God knows how many occasions now and listened to David Lammy and Hamish Falconer, the Middle East minister, and they’ve told us how ‘we’re going to do this, or we’re going to do that, and this is the latest thing we’re going to do’.
>“And then he stands up and says, ‘but they’re ignoring us’. Well, if they’re ignoring you, then do something that captures their attention.”
While this is obviously a good thing, politically – this is just yet another issue that splits people down the middle. Independence won’t be won by constantly putting issues that chop the voting public in 2 at the forefront. Right or wrong.
If Israel ignores the UK, why does he think they’d pay attention to an independent Scotland?
Would we be severing contact with all countries that do and shit , or just this particular one?
No , seriously , I honestly disagree with Israel’s policy in Gaza , but if we sever ties with Israel over it , then we need to sever ties with all nations that do shady shit or we’re just hypocrites
How does he know? If we become independent what makes him think he will be in a position to do this? It’s like claims made by the Brexit guys which all turned out to be bollox.
A good move. There seems to be a belief in foreign policy that you have to have a position on everything. It would make a nice change to say “no, we don’t have a role in a conflict thousands of miles away and don’t think we need one”.
A very seriously stupid man. Major liability for SNP. This is the second time in as many weeks he was ran his mouth and caused Swinney embarrassment, last was over Grangemouth. He has made clear his intent to try and become FM, so I assume some of the embarassment is intentional.
Nice.
Nobody gives a fuck about scotland, I don’t know why he thinks israel would give a damn.
This looks very much like Stephen Flynn going out on a limb. I don’t think John Swinney would endorse this sort of position.
Still, it’s all pretty much playing let’s imagine. If we were an independent country, we’d close our entirely theoretical embassy, maybe. Is that really worth an actual politician saying?
So far so far virtue signally.
But guys like Angus Robertson and Fergus Ewing are signaling the opposite.
An independent Scotland would stage an invasion of the Faroe Islands. After conquering them and massacring the vile Faroese an independent Scotland would continue onwards to Iceland and use it as a staging ground for a Greenland invasion. All able bodied men and women under the age of 69 would be conscripted for this special military operation to liberate the Greenlanders from their Danish oppressors!
They should write an article about it in the Telegraph.
An alarming amount of brainwashed genocide enablers on this thread.
Fair enough. But constituents will care more about what you have planned for Scotland. Not a country half the world away.

For example with Ewings sponsoring this event [Building Bridges with Israel.](https://www.parliament.scot/get-involved/cross-party-groups/current-cross-party-groups/2021/building-bridges-with-israel)
Quality.

As we should. Fuck Israel.
