This logo brought back some seriously fun memories. Not seen that in years.
Space Marine Master Crafted Edition.
That image has given me serious flashbacks
Ice-cream ice-cream
Forza Horizon 5 and ZZZ
Splitgate 2 not the BR just arena take down.
Wow you made me think of some of my favourite childhood games – Xenon 2, Magic Pockets, Gods. I might even be misremembering that they were all BB
You make me feel old.. anyone else think of Speedball 2?
WoW reset stuff, Raid Shadow Legends in the background, FFXIV waiting for later
I got Catan Junior yesterday, my 5 year old absolutely loves it already
Just finished Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand, a nicely done open world 3rd person shootem/beatem up.
Worth picking up if you find it on sale.
Just started Dune. Got Roadcraft on the go which is peak busywork simulation. Demo on steam for a cozy city builder called Town to City, it’s all soft focus pixel art and it’s looking promising.
Playing Mario kart world and Super Mario Jamboree with the fam when we are together
The real gem though is Speed Freeks, it’s a WH40k Combat racer with Orks and it’s as awesome as it sounds. If you ever played Twisted Metal back in the day then you will be at home. Can’t put it down.
Very early in a playthrough of **Persona 5 Royal**. Hopefully this will keep me distracted up until the Steam Summer sale as everything else I want to play is currently out of budget. Enjoying it so far.
Replaying Final Fantasy XIII on my Steam deck. First time playing it since it’s original release. Honestly can now definitely appreciate the nuances in the battle system way more than I did back then. Story is great and it still looks beautiful.
I know it gets a lot of flack in the series for being too linear, but tbh with “Open world” games being shoved down my throat at every turn, I’m really enjoying just a pure story and battling based RPG without any other major distractions.
Slay the Spire and Balatro continue to be my default options, they’re just so damn addictive and replayable.
Will be playing Minecraft, and later, some Marvel Champions and Gaslands.
The last 2 aren’t what you mean, but playing table top games is still playing games 😁.
Just started Titan Fall 2. So that’s been fun
Recently moved house and my PC is still in its moving box where it’s been for the last 3 weeks. I also haven’t had the energy to fire up the steam deck either and until the games room is setup (the other half still insists on calling it the dining room) the N64 and my board game collection are remaining in their boxes too.
I think this is the longest stretch of time I’ve gone without playing any form of game since I got a Gameboy for Christmas in 1990.
Me and the missus have started a save on Split Fiction finally. We loved it takes two so enjoying this so far. I’m the one who is useless at games so I keep dying and she keeps progressing along and saving me all the time!
Separately I’ve just gotten into the Anno series after a sale at Ubisoft. I enjoyed 1800 on Xbox game pass but much prefer the PC version. I tried 2070 but it was godawful and I got my £6.50 back within 2hrs. I then tried 2205 and really enjoy that one too.
The missus has been hooked on the elder scrolls oblivion remastered game but that all goes over my head and I just laugh at the look of the characters instead.
Oblivion remastered
Switch 2!
Getting into an old MMO I used to play called Istaria, last played it in 2008! Didn’t even realise it was still around but a nice surprise.
Have been having fun with Dave The Diver this week, but I need a new “serious” game and I’m feeling a bit generally underwhelmed with my PS5 purchase. Had it since March and I’ve played the FFVII remake, Cyberpunk, Blue Prince and replayed GTAV. Gave up on Returnal and Elite Dangerous, think I’m too old for difficult games or big learning curves now.
Playing Total War Rome 2….again….
Me and the Mrs are playing an escape room game that we got on sale. Its great but sometimes after work I just wanna switch my brain off and not be too challenged.
Given me fond memories of my Amiga seeing this
I just finished South of Midnight, was great actually, a fine story.
I have on my to playlist, ready to go:
Dredge
Wolfenstein ll: A New Colossus
Indiana Jones: The Great Circle
Expedition 33
Atomfall
Expedition 33 and Nightreign
Caesar 3 – massive childhood flashbacks, but had no idea how to play it. The source code has been opened up and a massive mod pack (Augustus) has been implemented to bring it up to date, with a new Reconquered Campaign thrown in to mix it up.
Am loving throwing hours away at it again.
Really loving Mario Kart World with the kids, and just restarted a new Animal Crossing Island to keep me entertained over the summer until my uni course starts again in October
Nothing really at the moment. I got an xbox gift card for my birthday off my nephew (although he was three weeks old at the time so it might not have been him doing the shopping), so I’ll get something in the sale.
I’ve been on a bit of a Frontier Developments sesh recently, as far as British companies go. Planet Zoo is very calming. And they’re releasing a new Jurassic World Evolution in October, with baby dinosaurs and a building system more like Planet Zoo. So I’m excited for that.
Probably going to finally get around to replaying Jedi Survivor next for my action fix. And the last Tomb Raider trilogy because taking a shotgun to zombies-but-not-zombies is always a cathartic treat. Oh, and Crusader Kings 2 wants me back. The void calls out.
I’m replaying The Last of Us Part 2 for the first time since release. I forgot how tense it made me feel.
I’m also getting back into Space Marine 2 as well.
**Assassins’s Creed Black Flag** is great, I’m surprised how well the Caribbean works as a setting. I’m about a third of the way through and it’s starting to feel a bit repetitive though.
**Pokemon Pinball: Ruby/Sapphire** is a massive nostalgia trip, I’m debating whether to try catch ‘em all but I know it’ll get grindy…
Late to the party but Baldur’s Gate 3. It took me a while to get into and get into my thick skull how classes work etc, but I’ve enjoyed it a lot so far. I’m just sort of making decisions that feel impactful without thinking about it but so far that’s lead me to having sex with a devil woman.
I’m juggling a lot. Thanks Switch 2 launch!
Picked up Bravely Default HD with the console, so started with that after setup.
Installed the Zelda upgrades to check those out. Got sucked back into Breath of the Wild.
Picked up Mario Kart World the next day. Wasn’t planning on getting it, but it looked good.
Then I’m also trying to finish off Starfield because I really need to make room on my Xbox after seeing some of those showcase reveals. Final Fantasy VII finally coming to Xbox? Hell yes!
They had some great games, Speedball and Chaos Engine were brilliant.
I started **Crow Country**, which I’m really enjoying. It’s one of those retro 90s-styled horror games, and it’s very pleasantly nostalgic with a fun theme park setting. The combat and puzzles aren’t completely wowing me, but they’re not bad and I really like the story and atmosphere so far.
Totally love the joke using WASDnesday, but when using the logo of the awesome Bitmap Brothers, us retro gamers know the key choice of the Amiga/Speccy/C64 back in the day was always QAOP… but alas there is no QAOPday on the calendar…. yet.
Cadaver, that was a fun little adventure game with some good puzzles by the Brothers
Promise mascot agency – in a world where mascots are real creatures that are just like people, you’re a Yakuza sent to make money through a mascot agency and end up finding out about a town curse and running against a corrupt mayor. It’s pretty funny.
Started playing Darktide the other day as it’s on gamepass now. Sometimes, I give Helldivers II a blast when my son isn’t on his PlayStation.
I am trying to host semi-regular games nights at my house for some real-life interaction and analogue thinking. Results have been mixed.
