    Their government is smart enough to exploit the weakened Russia as a it’s personal gas station while slowly economically assimilating it working towards making it an economic vassal.

    If anything this document shows further paranoia within the Russian inner circles that “everyone is our enemy and everyone wants to attack us”

    And hopefully will strain the Putin / Xi relations in the long run

  11. I’ve been saying this on the Russian channels for sometime now as if the hot conflict between Russia and China was yesterday. However it seems myself and the FSB agree China is an enemy waiting for the ripe moment to take back what is theirs along the border of Russia.

    However Russian trolls keep their head burried in Ukrainian sunflower fields along with their comrades.

  12. I was going to make a comment on how the FSB doesn’t seem to confident “Nukes” will scare Xi away like it does with the west. (speculation)

    But instead I’ll just leave this quote from the end of the NYTs article which originally referenced this leak

  14. Back at the very beginning of the Ukraine war when they stagnated in just the first days, I said this is a great time for China to just walk in and take everything.

    No one can stop them. No one would oppose in any way that would be appreciable. To many are 100% reliant on Chinese manufacturing that any attempt to sanction them or oppose militaristically China could simply cut all exports to that nation and cripple domestic manufacturing and sales. China doesn’t need weapons. We are already so dependent upon them that we’d have to give up a lot just to defy them.

    The TLDR is China can literally do whatever they want and taking all of Russia for themselves would be easy if that was their whim.

  18. “Russian territory.” Is the FSB referring to the Chinese territory that Russia captured during czarist expansion? Always curious about the saber rattling in the SCS and Taiwan but nothing about the ethnic Chinese living in eastern Russia.

  28. That China must be dismantled “by any means necessary” is explicitly spelled out in The Foundations of Geopolitics, a book which has guided Russian foreign policy for the past 30 years.

    Russia also views the US as a mortal enemy as a matter of both foreign and domestic policy, despite the fact that our current Simpleton in Chief views Putin as a friend and has surrounded himself by unqualified sycophants who agree with him.

    Russia is using its information warfare operations to goad China and the US into conflict with one another for precisely that reason: to encourage us to degrade one another thereby elevating Russia by comparison.

  29. Honestly it would be easier than Taiwan. It would also be a communist upgrade for the citizens as Russia sees them as expendable and China sees them as exploitable

  30. It was pretty obvious that this would be the end goal of China. A weak Russia that is in debt to them, it’s really easy to exploit them for everything they have. Once Putin fucks off, only option for whoever comes next would be to either get closer to Europe/US, or bend over to China. Putin won’t leave this world with his country in good standing for military and public morale, and I doubt his follower would hold things together without help.

    And I doubt China would be happy with Russia becoming a NATO military base country once Putin is F-ed.

  32. China would not conquer parts of Russia, they would simply have a special military operation to protect the ethnic Chinese minority in those territories and right the wrongs that Russia did went they conquered those territories from China.

  33. Conquer? China won’t even need to use the PLA to start taking territory. The Russian economy is being so propped up by China at this point, Putin probably has deals in place to sell off Russian land to China as payment for backing them up diplomatically. It won’t become Chinese soil, but the companies that operate there will be Chinese owned, they’ll be given beneficial trade deals, and Chinese workers/citizens will migrate where the work is and the culture will gradually change over time.

    Russia is conquering land it can’t manage/exploit once occupied, and doesn’t even bother to maintain the land it’s still possesses.
