And Hamas is almost completely eradicated,” Ehud Olmert, the prime minister of Israel from 2006 to 2009, says in this episode of “The Ezra Klein Show.” “And even when Iran attacked us with ballistic missiles, we intercepted almost all of them — hundreds of them — in one of the most unbelievable attacks in modern history. Hundreds of ballistic missiles with 1,000-kilo warheads were shot at Israel, and 95 percent of them were intercepted, with the assistance of America and Great Britain and France but largely because of us. So to say that there is an imminent danger to the very existence of Israel from a few thousand terrorists is ridiculous.”

  4. The person most responsible for beginning the siege of Gaza in the first place, has lost his stomach for the genocide. Claiming the murder and maiming of hundreds of thousands of civilians as an Israeli “success”.

  5. Olmert and Barak were the two leaders only willing to sincerely go the distance to make peace in the entirety of this conflict…..

    Its strange to see so many people bad-mouthing him on here. If more Israeli and Palestinian leaders were like Olmert, this conflict would be resolved right now. But Israelis love their theocratically “justified” settlements and Palestinians love abusing UNRWA aid to shoot bottle rockets too much for it to ever happen….
