This amenity shouldn’t be replaced. When the community complain, point them to the news articles reporting this event. That or completely defund any money for the marching season to rebuild it.

Cuz Gordon Lyons told everyone on Facebook that the folk forced to leave their homes in Ballymena have been moved to Larne Leisure Centre.

I coach basketball for a team in belfast and I know for a fact this will have utterly decimated the amazing work of the coaches and volunteers at larne basketball club.
The team I coach had a game up there this season and I got chatting to the coach/fella who runs the club from top to bottom. Great guy, alongside his gf and his friend. Between the 3 of them they are trying their best to establish a healthy activity for young people who don’t want to play football rugby. A place to stay active, learn a new skill and meet new people.
He said he was fighting tooth and nail to find somewhere else in the town to house the club as the fees in the leisure center are unsustainable.
There is nowhere else to play that suits a club with teams at every age group. Now this location will be out of action for a long time if not forever. Good job guys. That’ll show them immergrints
