They wont own the nhs, rather more likely to disown the nhs and make it private.
Something something because of the last labour government we have to sell it to our mates for £100k.
There comes a point where we have to move away from the idea that efficiency is everything, and that we can wring every last drop of blood from the stone.
There are plenty of improvements to be made (eg trying to get an appointment with your GP, whether on the day or if you want to see them in a couple of days’ time is an utter farce, out-of-hours doctors only prescribing meds for a couple of days, prescription charges), but there are plenty of things we could get rid of and fund the NHS instead. Wasn’t that what was voted for? Better funding for the NHS?
Given their track record of blaming the EU, Labour, Remainers, the coronavirus, the British public, the war in Ukraine etc. for various other things, I don’t think they’re going to own up to anything somehow.
They have blamed the NHS for the waiting lists that exist or for the lack of access to GPs, without acknowledging how many GPs have retired or left under their watch, nor the brain drain caused by low pay and excessive hours. The Tories are not going to own this, not when they can use it to slander the NHS.
